The Dotworkz Color match system blends outdoor camera housings to the installation sites’ color or theme, allowing the security cameras to disappear once mounted. The color match can be created out of a durable vinyl wrap or from a paint dip process. This off-site technique generally takes a week to 10 days to cure and dry.

For this project Questar Gas requested that the D2 housings match the color scheme of their new Questar Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The goal was to take advantage of the modern look of the D2 enclosure while promoting security for the new building. The installation crew was instructed to hide all cables, and to place what would normally be rooftop camera systems to mid-building height. This improved the HD cameras’ overall performance and usefulness, and accentuated the building’s open walls with the color-matched Dotworkz D-Series housings.

The units were ordered from our San Diego facility without the side ingress ports drilled out. This allowed all cables to be run from the mounting wall, and enabled Pansonic WV-SC385 PTZ cameras to supply high quality HD video. The architects and security director were elated with the easily hidden cables, and the elegance of the final mounted appearance.
